(Preparing for Professional Interview)

Purpose of the Assessment
• The interview aims to verify your competence
across all expected areas of professional
engineering.
• Examiners will typically use the practical
experience section of your application form as a
guide during the interview.
• You'll be prompted to discuss your experience,
providing evidence of your competence.
• Examiners will cross-reference interview
evidence with competence and commitment
areas.
• You'll have the chance to elaborate on your
application information and address any
clarifications during the interview.
Guideline for Professional Interview
• In preparing for the Professional
Interview, a candidate must
understand what competency will be
accessed during the interview and the
format of the interview.
• In addition to this, preparing effective
presentation slide is paramount in
excel during the interview so that
clear massage can be grasped by the
judges.
• Therefore, I will explain how to
prepare for the interview.
Assessment Categories

During the interview, 4 competency areas will


be assessed as follow:

A : Knowledge and Understanding of Engineering


B : Practical Application of Engineering
C : Management and Leadership
D : Communication and interpersonal Skills
Format for Professional
Interview

The candidate who sat for the interview is


encouraged to follow the guided format
as below:
• Introduction
• Candidate Presentation (15
minutes) – Showcase evident of
the competencies
• Q&A Session (45 minutes)
• Final Evidence Opportunity
• Conclusion
Preparing Presentation
Slides
• The candidate must make sure the lengthy of
the slide should not more than 15 minutes.
• When preparing the slides, make sure reduce
as much word as possible and provide only
precise and important information.
• The candidate is expected to explain in the
point form without reading the slides or
reading the prepared script.
• Make sure add keyword in the slide that
highlighting the four competency areas.

Objective : Optimize Dry Ice Blasting (DIB) Nozzle Geometry using CFD analysis
Location : Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)
Duration : September 2017– October 2019

Research Title : Geometry Optimization of Dry Ice Blasting Nozzle for the Noise Reduction
using Experimental Validation.

Research Summary : This study focuses on maximizing particle velocity and minimizing acoustic noise
emission from a nozzle. UTHM has patented the explicit and novelty approach of this work
under commercialization for an industrial cleaning system.
