4. (a) How are juveniles in conflict with law treated


under the Juvenile Justice (Care and protection
of children) Act, 2000. Considering the heinous
crimes committed by the juveniles, do you think
that provisions of J.J. Act, 2000 should be
amended ? Give reasons for your answer.

(b) A aged 17 years and B, C and D aged 30, 35


& 40 years were prosecuted by a special court
for killing 5 people in a terrorist attack. 'A'
challenged his trial by the special Court. Can he
do so?

5. (a) 'Probation of offenders Act, 1958 fully meets


the demand for reformation and rehabilitation
of offenders.' Critically analyse the above
statement and also discuss the judicial response. •
