PREFACE
This worksheet is developed and designed for use in Grade I to compliment the
Primer and Alphabet Big book in Kankanaey, for a clearer and more purposive teaching
-learning of language.
The drills and skills-building exercises that are included in this workbook are
relevant and in line with situations and happenings in everyday living, so the Grade I
pupils can easily relate to them.
The worksheet addresses the felt and immediate need to have additional
instructional materials in Mother Tongue so the teaching-learning that use Kankanaey
can be more purposive, clearer and better sustained.

name the pictures.

B. Establishing a Show the pictures on Activity 1 again. This time, teacher


purpose for the lesson names the picture emphasizing the beginning sound /Kk/ and
then the learners follow.
Ask: What’s the beginning sound of each picture?
Say: You said that all the pictures you saw begin with /Kk/.
This is the symbol for the /Kk/ sound.
