Bramley is a Village and parish in Hampshire , England .In the 2001 census it had a universe
of 3,348 .It has a village shop , bakeshop , estate bureau , pub – The Bramley inn ( opened in
1897 as The Six buzzer ) – and a railway line station .Also , Bramley Camp household an US
Army facility where military training and manoeuvres take plaza .== History == Evidence of
Bramley 's first denizen can equal found in Bullsdown ingroup , a prehistoric colonization ,
where remnants of flint-scrapers , a spear-head , a core group and flint-flakes have been
found .This is thought to follow a late Celtic `` triple-walled greyish brown '' .This
fortification can still be seen today , situated to the East of the village S of the Bramley to
Sherfield road .The Romans occupied Calleva Atrebatum and built a surround city known
today as Silchester .Bramley is on the Chichester to Silchester Way roman print road and
has remains of a Romano-British Villa nearby .Bramley is listed as a significant liquidation
in the 1086 Domesday Survey , with 39 home , in the hundred of Basingstoke .Included in its
resourcefulness were two grind , a church and woodlands , tilled land and meadows with a
total economic value of £9 .The Reverend Henry Martyn Robert Toogood wrote a story of
the village and church .It includes some anecdotes about Martin Luther King Henry VIII 's
connexion with the village and Cufaude manor house .The Church of St St. James the Apostle
stands at the West of the village and originally dates from 1160 , however it features many
historical adjustment and additions up to the twentieth Century .It is a Grade I listed

is buried in the interment ground next to the church service , near the tomb of her brother

settlement in 1848 .The village had to wait another 47 years until on 1 may 1895 a station
in the settlement opened , at the pressure of the then Duke of jackboot , a large landowner
in the area .During 1935 parts of the photographic film 'The survive journeying ' were shot
on the railway system within the small town .== Geography == Bramley is located ten miles
south of the large town of Reading , and five miles north of Basingstoke .The village is the
site of Bramley ( Hants ) railway post , on the subscriber line between reading material and
Basingstoke , and is served by Great Western railroad track 's topical anaesthetic
services .The post is 5 miles ( 8 kilometer ) north of Basingstoke .== Governance == The civil
parish of Bramley includes the village of Bramley and the neighbour settlements of Bramley
Green and Bramley Corner .The village is also theatrical role of the Bramley and Sherfield
ward of Basingstoke and Deane borough council .The borough council is a Non-
metropolitan district of Hampshire County Council .All three councils are responsible for
different aspects of local regime .At Borough level , Bramley is represented by councillor
Nicholas Robinson and Venitia Rowland who , together , represent the Bramley and
Sherfield Ward .At County stage , Bramley is represented by Cllr .Keith Chapman , MBE who
represents the Calleva and Kingsclere section .== Army training area == Bramley refugee
camp is a armed forces training area South of the small town , used mainly by 21 SAS
( reserves ) .The camp has also been used to pullulate component of the Channel 4

the 900-acre site is not open to the populace and in many manner is undisturbed ; it is a

The Village is served by three Greenwich Village magazine : the original parish magazine
edited by the Reverend Robert Toogood and others , the Bramley 265 and the View
Magazine .The Bramley 265 has been running for two years and was edited by Emma
Cunningham until December 2009 .As of 2010 it will be edited by Scott Millard .Bramley265
also has website , which is administered by Chris Wright .The position magazine is run by
two sixteen-year-old son ; George cetacean and King Oliver Yorke .band up in 2008 the
powder magazine has grown to birth the turgid distribution in the area , now serving 4000
homes .The aspect was nominated for two stage business awards in November 2009 at the
regional Inspire 09 awarding ( Basingstoke and North Hampshire down ) for New Business
