Introduction –
Members
Introduction:
The band was born in 1970 formed from the
group Smile, which had Brian May and Roger
Taylor. When the group ended, Mercury and John
Deacon became part of what would become one
of the greatest rock bands in history. However,
reaching this title required a long way of
attempts, experimentation and little success. The
first records, Queen (1973) and Queen II (1974),
had little reach.

Origin of fame:
"The fame of Queen was achieved
through a combination of factors. Firstly,
their innovative music, which blended
elements of rock, pop, opera, and other
genres, attracted a wide audience.
Additionally, their live performances
were spectacular, with a charismatic
stage presence highlighted by Freddie
Mercury. They were also very talented at
creating songs that were both catchy
and profound. Constant exposure
through radio, television, and tours
helped solidify their popularity."
In late 1975, Freddie Mercury, Brian
May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon
were getting ready for Queen's first
live televised show. At that time,
"Bohemian Rhapsody" was topping
the charts and had never been
performed on TV. The performance

Criticism – Musical

Criticism:

Some common criticisms about Queen include the band's

tendency to mix various musical styles, which some considered to
be a lack of cohesion in their albums. Additionally, there has been
criticism of the exuberance and theatricality of the band's live
performances, sometimes described as overly elaborate. Some
critics also pointed out that some of Queen's song lyrics were
somewhat obscure or abstract, which may have alienated some
listeners. However, these criticisms did not diminish the band's
overall impact on the music scene.

Bohemian Rhaspody song
Translation and explanation/opinion of
the Bohemian Rhaspody song
The song, written by Freddie, draws
inspiration from Goethe's Faust,
published in 1775. It tells the story of
Henry Faust, who sells his soul to the
devil Mephistopheles. The words
"bohemian" and "rhapsody" originate from
this tale. "Bohemian" refers to Bohemia,
where Faust makes a pact with the devil
in pursuit of fame. "Rhapsody" comes
from the Greek "rhapsoidos," meaning a
section of an epic poem recited
independently. This mirrors the grand
inclusion of guitar solos and lyrical
moments in the music, akin to a grand
declamation.
