COMMON RAIL SYSTEM
Common Rail system (common rail injection system) is a diesel engine
whose fuel system is controlled electrically. When the engine is running
there is always quite high fuel pressure. The high pressure control on each
injector is regulated independently. The injection pressure and timing
system is designed for high speed direct injection engines. Injection
parameters such as injection time, injection amount and pressure are
controlled by the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Based on the type,
common rail diesel includes direct injection, where the fuel is directly
sprayed into the piston..
COMMON RAIL SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Fuel tank
A fuel tank or fuel tank is an important component in a vehicle that is
used to store fuel. Apart from that, tanks are also used to collect fuel
vapor. Usually, these components are made of metal or plastic which is
corrosion and leak resistant

Fuel filter
The fuel filter is a component that functions as a filter for dirt contained
in the fuel entering the pump. Fuel that sits for a long time in the tank will
cause rust so that the gasoline can be contaminated with dangerous
particles
COMMON RAIL SYSTEM COMPONENTS
High presure pump
Then there is this component which is useful for generating diesel fuel
pressure from the tank up to around 160 MPa. Its job is only to generate
pressure because the timing is regulated by the solenoid in the injector.

Nozzel injector
The injector on a diesel motorbike is very important in distributing fuel
into the cylinder at the end of the compression stroke when the piston is
at 18° - 22° before TDC. In this step the nozzle (injector part) sprays fuel in
the form of a perfect mist continuously and regularly according to the
mechanism. valve.
HOW THE COMMON RAIL SYSTEM WORKS
The fuel in the fuel tank will be pumped to the high pressure pump using a delivery
pump. From the high pressure pump the fuel will be pumped to the common rail at high
pressure, fuel pressure that exceeds the specifications on the high pressure pump will
be channeled back to the tank by opening the pressure control valve, the fuel pressure
on the common rail will remain constant. constant which is also maintained by the
pressure control valve and ready to be injected. When the fuel pressure exceeds the
pressure specification, the control valve will open and channel the fuel back to the tank
to stabilize the pressure.
The nozzle opening time (spraying fuel) is regulated by the ECM (Electronic Control
Module) based on signals sent by supporting sensors. If there is excessive pressure on
the nozzle there is also a pressure control valve which will open to channel the fuel back
to the nozzle
