1. What challenges did you encounter during the creation process, and how did you
overcome them?
One of the challenges that I encountered is the cutting process. In the cutting process, I have to
carefully shape and patiently cut a perfect circle to the board to fit the cup. Mistakes are
not allowed during this process because it may ruin the entire board. Scissors are not advisable
because it may hurt your hand and the cut is not that great compared to the cutter.
Actually, I remade the whole board because my 3rd circle is big compared to the first 2.

2. How do you feel about the final outcome of your project?

I am satisfied. I enjoyed the making process that I forgot to do the documentation/picture to
make the board.

3. What did you learn from this experience, and how do you plan to continue engaging with
traditional Filipino games and cultural heritage in the future?

In this activity, I learned that I have to take a step back to relearn the things that I had back in my
childhood days. Due to the continuous work load and responsibilities, we are often forgetting
things that made us happy before. We forget to associate with people, games and books that we
loved. That is why, from today onwards, I will once again try to play a sungka with my friends
and siblings and I will also try to teach and introduce board games to others. I believe that it is
our responsibility as Filipinos to share this tradition to the new generation that are not well-verse
to our culture and/or heritage.
