PE 2 UF Final Requirement

Miggy Yambao

As I was watching the United States vs. Japan | Mixed Semifinal | 2023 World
Under-24 Ultimate Championships, I noticed that both teams showcase excellent
spacing so that they can receive the passes easily from their teammates. What I also
noticed with the Team Japan is that they have like a zone defense in which they have 3
defenders near the person with the disc. On the other hand, Team USA has great man
to man defense on the players of Team Japan. Austin-Knab of Team USA is utilizing his
size against Team Japan since he is quite tall while the players of Japan are smaller
than him. Even though with the great defense from Team USA, Team Japan can
breakthrough with their excellent passing. Based on my observation 1 point for
improvement is the pull of Team USA since when Team Japan does the pull they get it
far and not out of bounds.

Before I got enlisted in this class, I had somewhat knowledge with how to play
frisbee since I did throws during my high school days and sometimes I get invited by my
friends to play. I noticed before the semester started, I wasn’t good at doing a backhand
since forehand was the only throw I can do properly but as the classes go by I learned
how to finally do it properly, it wasn’t perfect but it was way better than before. Also
during the 4v4s or 5v5s at first I didn’t know where to go but at the end I learned where
cut and to receive a pass better.

When it comes to my favorite part of this class, it was every moment since I was
able to meet new friends and also have a coach/professor that didn’t seem like one
since it was more of like a friend to friend bond than student to teacher bond. Playing
with my classmates and the people who Ma’am Eia brings are always fun to play with.
Thus, making every moment of this class my favorite.
