Since inception of Extended Essay ,I was quite inquisitive about Monetary Policy as the increase in

interest rates in India made my interest grow towards Quantitative Easing,lending rates and the
possible ways Reserve Bank of India intervenes in economy by brining financial instruments.

However later after consulting my supervisor I understood that collecting primary data was tedious and
secondary data shall also contain many biases and to narrow them down would further lead to random
data collection.I started reading economic times to strengthen my knowledge about fiscal Policy as I
knew that fiscal Policy consisted of many supply side reforms which have exponential horizons to
collect data.

Belonging from Industrial Background I had some knowledge about subsides offered to MSME's for
increasing Real GDP. Gujarat being one of the most developing state performed exceptionally well
in terms of production .However there were many policies such as PM 'Atmanirbhar' ,Industrial
Policy 2020 etc. After researching and gathering some preliminary stats about the policies and the
incentives offered I concluded to finalize Industrial Policy 2020 as during my informal interview with
my contacts lead my research thrive in correct direction and I became sure of my chosen topic.
Now that I was clear on the research topic , I started my research. the first stop was framing a
good research question. after consultations with my supervisor , i took inputs on deciding research
question, understanding sampling procedures and various data representation strategies.
my supervisor guided me to narrow down my study. i worked on the suggestion and finalised one.i
was now going to focus on how Gujarat industrial policy 2020 have been effective in increasing
employment and economic growth between the time frame of 2020-2023.

Going ahead in this essay, there were a whole bunch of questions that popped up. an
understanding was needed on how to structure my research into the format of essay. my
supervisor guided me with timely evaluation and valuable feedback. he guided me to redirect my
focus on the incentives and subsidies given, to refine my work i analysed the infrastructure thrust
given by this policy and stakeholders benefits - as this will strengthen my essay further. Working
on these inputs i could work on converting my research skills into tangible and plausible
presentation skills.

This session allowed me to reflect on the culmination of my extensive research and in-depth
analysis, primarily centered around Industrial Policy 2020. My journey encompassed both
theoretical exploration and economic analysis, shedding light on the practical application of
economic theories. The process honed my research skills, particularly in data acquisition, which
was notably challenging.
I effectively assessed Industrial Policy 2020's impact on reducing unemployment and boosting
real GDP. Moreover, I gained insight into vital factors contributing to economic development,
including property prices, PCI, and the supply-side implications of fiscal policies. My grasp of
fiscal policy broadened my understanding of both demand and supply-side policies. This
Extended Essay experience has enhanced my ability to critically evaluate financial research
papers, equipping me with valuable skills for future endeavors in this field.
The student has appropriately posed the research question and justified its significance for investigation. The
student has acknowledged the limitations of the arguments made during the research process. Although
primary data has been collected, its alignment are questionable.

Furthermore, the student has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of economic theory, but the
application is limited. While the conclusion aligns somewhat with the research questions and the overall
argument, improvements are needed. Overall, the student has made an effort to write the essay.
