Description of Area

Area is defined as length directly proportional to uniform object which is increasing by one un
breadth. It is usually calculated in meters (m2). Area is a length and width. The block is a square with
count of how many unit squares fit inside a figure. To Take a look at how it was calculated and com

Description of Weight
Mass of an object is defined as the amount of matter it contains.
Weight is proportional to mass. Weight depends on gravity. A person On the table below, it is how weight was
weighing on Earth 120 kilograms, weighs only 40 kg on Mars and 20 inspection to determine how it was calcu
kg on the Moon. In order to get weight we need to have the mass of graph below on the right to make interpre
an object over the gravity. Gravitational acceleration has been the block and weight of the block.
determined as 9.8 m/s2. Therefore Weight is called the force og
gravity.
The formula to calculate weight is W = m x g, that is Weight (in N),
mass (in kg) and gravitational acceleration (in m/s2).

Information on Pressure
Pressure is defined as force per unit area. It is usually more convenient to use pressure rather
than force to describe the influences upon exerted objects. The standard unit for pressure is the
Pascal (Pa), which is a Newton per square meter (N/m2).

For an object resting on a surface, the force exerted on the surface is called the weight of the
object, but it have a different area in contact with the surface and therefore exert a different
pressure.

The formula to calculate Pressure is P (Pa) = Weight (N) ÷ Area (m2)

Below, there are three tables. Study them and interprete the graphs below them and write a
conclusion with respect to Area, Weight and Pressure.
