Introduction: Today we are going to talk about Singapore. We

Population: According to data collected in 2021, about 5 million
people live in Singapore, but only 2.91 million were born there.
About 76% of the population is chinese, 15% is malay, 6% is
indian and the other 3% are from other ethnicities.
Location: Singapore is an island city-state located on the
southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia, 137
kilometers north of the equator. The highest point of Singapore
is Bukit Timah Hill, with a height of 165 m and made up of
igneous rock, granite. Hills and valleys of sedimentary rock
dominate the northwest, while the eastern region consists of
sandy and flatter land.
Peculiar cultural aspects:
Music: Dondang, Dikir, ghazal (lyric poem) are some of the
cultural music styles in Singapore.
Festivals: some of the tradicional festivals in singapore are: the
hungry gost festival, the singapore national day festival, the hari
raya puasa festival, and many more.
Food: hainanese chicken rice, laksa, char kway teow are some of
the most famous foods in singapore.
Traditions:
1-While meeting a Singaporean formally or informally, you have
to make sure to shake hands firmly with all, even when
departing.
2-Always take off the shoes before entering anyone's house.
3-Calling middle-aged and eldery people “uncle” or “aunt” is
seen as a sign of respect in Singapore.
