Present Simple tense ‫زمن المضارع البسيط‬

Structure ‫تركيب الجملة‬

Subject + Verb + Complement ‫التكملة‬+‫فعل‬+‫فاعل‬
Ex: I Work at the university ‫انا اعمل في الجامعة‬

S V Comp.
We add s to the verb when the subject is (he, she, it) and we call it
“Third person singular” ‫نستخدم‬s
.‫الشخص الثالث للمفرد في زمن المضارع البسيط وهي للمتحدث المفرد فقط‬
He works at school. ‫هو يعمل في المدرسة‬
Uses ‫االستعماالت‬
1. An action that happens again and again.(habit)
)‫يستخدم زمن المضارع البسيط في الحدث الذي يحدث مرارا وتكرار (عادة‬
I go to work by car
I cut my hair once a month.

2. A fact that is always true.

‫يستخدم زمن المضارع البسيط مع الحقائق الصحيحة دائما والتتغير‬
Ronaldo comes from Brazil
My son has brown hair
3. A fact that is true for a long time. (state)
‫يستخدم زمن المضارع البسيط مع الحقائق واالحداث التي تحدث لزمن ووقت‬
‫طويل‬
I live in Baghdad
I work at Mustansiriyah university
Present Continuous ‫زمن المضارع المستمر‬

Form ‫التركيب‬
S + Verb+ing+com

‫فاعل‬ ‫فعل مستمر‬ ‫التكملة‬

Ex:

I am working now. ‫انا اعمل االن‬

Question: what are you doing ? ‫ماذا تفعل؟‬

Uses ‫االستعماالت‬
1. An activity happening now. ‫لوصف حدث يحدث االن(في هذه اللحظة) زمن‬
‫التكلم‬
Ex: They are playing football in the garden.

2. An activity happening around now, but not at the moment of

speaking. ‫لوصف حدث مستمر في الحدوث في الزمن الحالي (ليس شرطا ان يكون‬
)‫لحظة التكلم‬
Ex: She is studying psychology at the university.

3. A planned future arrangement. ‫لوصف حدث مخطط له ان يحدث في‬

)‫المستقبل(يسمى المضارع يشير الى المستقبل‬
Ex: what are you doing this evening?
I am meeting my friends at 10 o’clock.
