dedicated blower room, the ZL blower drives the

Whether you need a blower for pneumatic
transport of solid fuel, for main combustion air or
for lance cooling air, the ZL unit is strong enough to

environment in cement plant is often harsh and
dusty, the ZL lobe blower´s proven element with
sturdy frame will provide trouble-free operation.

Smooth and reliable operation 24/7
Applications in power plants such as
desulphurization or combustion process require
intermittent operation of the blower with variable
air demand. A high number of starts can be very
demanding for the bearings in element and motor
and for the check valve. The start-up function of
the (standard-built-in) PVO valve ensures a smooth
pressure build-up and thus prolongs the lifetime of
those components . The integrated VSD control of
the ZL blower then provides always the right
volume of air.

OIL-FREE LOBE BLOWERS

HIGH PROCESS UPTIME AT LOW CAPITAL COSTS


The range of Atlas Copco ZL positive displacement tri-lobe
blowers is a new version of a reliable and durable blower
providing trouble-free operation even in the harshest conditions.
This range is built as a complete unit, providing reliable supply of
100% oil-free air with low noise level.

The new range comes as basic unit with canopy, with or


without an integrated controller, fix speed or VSD. For further
information, see below the section “scope of supply”.

Your benefits

PULSATION – FREE AIR

ZL series is based on tri-lobe rotors, which offer superior energy


efficiency and a smooth flow. For further reduction of pressure
pulsations, pre-filling grooves have been milled in the blower casing,
to pre-fill the reverse chamber. This design prolongs the lifetime of
the flexible elements of aerating systems, but also protects conveyor
systems against undesirable pulsations. Inside the blower, the
reduction in pulsations has many advantages as well: less vibrations
are transmitted to the bearings, increasing bearing lifetime.

OIL-FREE AIR

The Atlas Copco ZL is a low noise, low vibration and low pulsation
blower that comes in a complete, ready to run package. Because of the
total separation of the blower working area and its oil system, the ZL
blower delivers top quality oil-free air; internal design of the element
eliminates the risk of product contamination or environmental pollution.
The inner working area is resistant to high temperatures, limit is at
150°C.

Reliability

Traditional design of the element with roller and ball bearings and
straight cut gears, efficient cooling of the canopy, stainless steel
compensator for outlet connection or integrated start-up valve – all this
contributes to the top reliability of the new ZL lobe blower. Atlas Copco ZL range presents
a lot of advantages for wide range of applications. Built to resist the harsh
environments, these blowers are also capable to sustain extreme operating

conditions with up to 55°C ambient temperatures without modification.

AIR INLET FILTER

• All of the Atlas Copco ZL blower range include a filter housing


that will pre-separate heavy particles through centrifugal action,
and subsequently a polyester cartridge type air intake filter
removing 94,2 % of all dust particles greater than 5 micron in
size. (Filtration class acc. DIN 24.185), G4 (Coarse Dust Filters)

• High quality air inlet filter prevents particles and dust to enter the
blower, even while running in a harsh environment

• The inlet filter housing has a perforated plate in between filter
material and blower inlet

• No dust and particles are blown in the air net.
• Protects the blower from damage by solid particles entering the
element
• Pressure pulsations are cancelled and cannot destroy the inlet
filter material
