Accra Hosts the 13th All African Games

Accra, Ghana – The 13th All African Games have commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony
in Accra, marking the beginning of Africa’s foremost multi-sport event. Athletes from across the
continent have gathered to compete in a series of sports, with the games also serving as a
qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics1.

Despite a strong performance, Ghanaian sprinters missed out on medals in the men’s 100m
finals, with national record holder Benjamin Azamati finishing fifth. Meanwhile, the University
