1. Who wrote this article? What can you tell me about that writer? (Google them.)

2. What is the title of this article? Where was it originally published?

3. Identify the introduction of this article.

4. Highlight the thesis in the article (or the statement of purpose).

5. What are the key points the writer is trying to make? (if not already mentioned).

6. Choose any two body paragraphs and answer the following questions for each:

A. What is the main point/purpose of the paragraph?

B. Which single sentence best explains that main point?

7. C. Which rhetorical mode is used in this paragraph? How do you know this?

8. Identify the conclusion of the article (it may be on the digital copy.)

9. Does the conclusion sum up the key points or not? Identify the summary.

10. Tell me about your reading experience. [How long did it take you to read it. How many times did you

read it. Did the reading challenge you? Did it interest or frustrate you? What made it difficult or easy?
