Let’s Play With NAMES!
There are names of people, names of cities, names of countries, names of
social networks, names of animals, and even numbers have a name … .
They are many names and they are all very special, just like YOUR name.
But, what’s in a name? Think about it! In a name, there are letters.
Numbers are not only numbers. They also have names! How old are you? Eleven, twelve? What
year are you in at school? Year seven? Think of the names of numbers ONE to TWENTY. Which
numbers have letter “w”? Good! Numbers two, twelve and twenty.
1 Read Paragraph 1 and tick the ideas that are mentioned. There are two extra

A Special House For a Special Family!
1 Read the text about Red Ovenbirds and number the paragraphs in the correct
order.
Red Ovenbirds have got big families – usually the mother, the
father and 2 to 6 babies. They live in a very comfortable nest,
their home, for a time. Then the kids leave their parents to
build their homes and form their own family. And the parents?
They build a new home, sometimes on the old nest, and start a
new family.
These lovely birds are great parents and they are great architects,
too. Mother and Father are together all their lives and build
their home in 6 to 8 days with the ‘adobe’ technique. The nest is
spherical (like a ball or an oven) and it is strong and safe for all
the family. It has got only one door and there aren’t any windows,
but it has got a living room and a bedroom. Yes! TWO rooms!
