I would like to attend the Annual Global Conference on Girl Child Empowerment

(GCGCE
2024) under the theme ‘’Empower a Girl Child to Change the Future” that aims
at
Empowering girls, the youth and women while promoting gender equality which is
crucial to
accelerating sustainable development. As a professional Human Rights defender who
has headed
various girl child empowerment projects the conference will be is beneficial to my
work research
projects and communities in general because it will expose me to new professional
experiences
in my career.
I believe I will be e inspired and motivated by the stories and achievements of girls
and women
who are breaking boundaries and barriers and creating positive change in their
communities and
the world. On another hand the conference is a great opportunity for human rights
worker like
me to enhance professional development and personal growth, and to contribute to the
global
movement for girl child empowerment and gender equality.
The conference is organized by the Amara Girls Initiative (TAGI). And will take
place on are
March 23 rd – 24 th , 2024, from 09:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at Woodbine Banquet and
Convention Hall,
30 Vice Regent Boulevard M9W 7A4 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Ties to Country of Residence and Home Country
1. Family
I was born, raised and lived in Uganda for all my entire life, with occasional travels.
My
parents, siblings, fiancé and son are all in Uganda.
Children and Wife: Since 17th August 2019, I have been legally married to Ms.
Nakyanzi Rose
my childhood friend and together we are blessed with a daughter Mbowa michelle
born on 11 th
August 2018 and son Lucas Mbowa born on 21 November 2021/01/11 , My Son is
still very
young and therefore, it’s
my responsibility to provide all necessities, parental love and care and raise him
basically, I have
to be closer to my young family by living with my child and wife and bare more
children as per
our culture.
Parents Sometimes I support my mother financially and physically when she is sick,
they have
frequent health issues associated with old age, and so I have to remain closer to them.
2. Employment.
Since 12 th February, I have been working as a Peer Educator Officer with YAWE
Foundation for
Outreach Program in Uganda and I’m in charge of advocacy, and fighting
discrimination against
women and girl’s empowerment in the Rwenzori region in Uganda. I have attached an
appointment letter outlining my responsibilities, leave application and confirmation
from the
human resource, recommendation letter from the executive director pictorial evidence
about girlchild empowerment from various parts in Rwenzori region My employer is
