Patient Name : Mr.HARSH PANDEY 229PAT005447
Sex: Male
Referred By : DR. BRIJESH SINGH Receiving Date: 20-02-2024 10:35 PM
Serial No : 8667 Reporting Date: 20-02-2024 03:07 PM

SEROLOGY
WIDAL TEST (SLIDE METHOD)

TYPHI "O" + + - - -
TYPHI "H" + + - - -
TYPHI "AH" + - - - -
TYPHI "BH" + - - - -
WIDAL TEST: NEGATIVE
INTERPRETATION :
Sera from normal individuals may show agglutination in dilutions up to 1:40
Agglutination titres of 1:40 or more are significant and rising titres on repitition of
test after few days is more suggestive of enteric fever.
LIMITATIONS OF WIDAL TEST:
Numerous false positives due to cross reacting antibodies and heterospecific anamnestic responses and false low titres
as a result of partial treatment are observed. This makes clinical correlation with lab findings mandatory.
Also Available: Rapid Continuous Monitoring Blood Culture on BACTEC (Becton & Dickinson), for early and efficient
detection of Salmonella in blood.

Serial No : 8667 Reporting Date: 20-02-2024 03:07 PM

DENGUE SEROLOGY:-

Antigen NS1 : POSITIVE

COMMENTS:
Dengue viruses is transmitted by the mosquito, Aedes aegypti and Aedes
albopictus mosquitoes, There are four known distinct serotypes (dengue virus 1,2,3 and 4).
NS1 is a highly- conserved glycoprotein that is present at high concentrations in the sera of
dengue- infected patients during the early clinical phase of the disease.
NS1 antigen is found from the first day and up to 9 days after onset of illness in cases of primary
dengue infection and until 4 to 5 days after onset of illness in secondary infections.
In primary infections, IgG appears the 14th day persist for life.Secondary infections show that IgG
rise within1 - 2 days after the onset of symtoms and induce IgM response after 20 days of infection.
Limitation of the test :

1. A negative result can occur if the quantity of Dengue virus NS1 antigen present in the specimen
is below the detection limits of the assay, or the antigens that are detected are not present during
the stage of disease in which a sample is collected.

MALARIA , P.VIVAX AND P.FALCIPARUM ANTIGEN

Malaria Antigen:-
P.Falciparum :- NEGATIVE
P.Vivax :- NEGATIVE

INTERPRETATION
The test uses two antibodies. One antibody is specific for the histidine - rich protein 2 antigen of Pl. alciparum (P.f.HRP
2). The other antibody is specific for a malaria antigen which is common to both Pl.falciparum and Pl. vivax species.

LIMITATION OF PROCEDURE

The test indicates the presence or absence of Pl. falciparum or Pl. vivax in the blood specimen. The test will detect but
not speciate mixed infections. Occasionally, residual Pl. fHRP2 antigen may be detected for several days following the
elimination or parasites by anti-malarial, treatment. Diagnosis should be made by using the result of this test together
with other clinical and laboratory findings.
