THE COMPONENTS OF THE COMPUTER

a- The peripherals of the computer

the material linked to the computer is a peripheral. There are the output and the input
peripherals.
-An output peripheral is an organ that permits to restore the result of work carried out,
therefore it permits the visualization of the information that we are put in the
computer.
They represent the material situated at the extern part of the central processing unit
(CPU)
They are constituted of: a screen, CPU, also a printer.
Output peripheral data sent by a CPU to a peripheral, they allow us to view and
consult the data on a computer.
An input peripheral permits to enter an information or a data in a computer. They are
data sent by a peripheral such as hard disk keyboard… to a CPU or processor. An
input permits they transfer of data the computer they are situate inside the central
processing unit. The main element or components are the processor, hard disk,
scanner, USB key…

b- The role played by each component

-the screen/monitor: it is necessary to see what is done in a computer.

-the keyboard and the mouse: they are useful to enter in communication with the
computer.

-the webcam: it is a small camera which we put on the computer and which permit to
film images and to transfer on the computer.

-the printer: it permits to print on the paper the files.

-the speaker-head: thanks to them, you can listen sound-files.

-the modem: it’s a small box which permits to be connected in internet…

-The hard disk: it’s conventional hard disk embarked in solid box which is connected
to a computer through a USB.
