Life Is Strange Review

- “Even a minor event, action or small shift can have such a tremendous effect. Like butterfly’s
wing can alter the path of a tornado certainly everything, even the very tiny thing can affect
everything”.
’Life Is Strange’ is a video game developed by Dontnod Entertainment and 1published by
Square Enix in 2015 for computers and consoles, selling around 7,5 million copies since it was
first 1published.
Life is Strange tells the story of Max Caulfield, a young teenager that after living some years in

another place, she gets back to her hometown to study photography in a prestigious academy.

After she 4finished her photography class, she decides to go to the bathroom to wash her face
when suddenly, a student enters the bathroom and murders a girl with a gun. In an act of
reflection, Max yells at the student and, in a very 5unfortunately way, she discovers her great
ability to rewind time, and she uses it to avoid the girl’s death.

The main characteristic of the game is the ability to rewind time to change the choices that we

made, to have different results and consequences. The characters in the story have their own
personality, and some of them contrast with Max’s personality. What makes the characters
special is that they are ordinary people with their own problems and life, and that can engage us
more into 7plot and make us like or dislike certain characters, making it difficult when we must
make a rough decision about a character’s fate.
I really loved this game for the message that it 8leaves and it’s beautiful and well-written

story. This game makes us appreciate the little things in life, in fact, the most memorable
moments from this game are the ones that we can’t go back in time. Life is Strange 10teach us
about the importance of the present, no matter how much we want to change the past, we
sometimes must let it go and live our present. The main fact that I love from the game is that we
can rewind time to choose other consequences and actions, and the more we play the game, the
more we understand that time is something that we should not play with.
All in all, I do super recommend Life Is Strange for those people who want to live a narrative
story with lots of very memorable characters and unexpected plot twists.

Time is something that we should not play with

1. Remember films and video games are not published, they are released. Books are
published.
2. Don’t use this kind of vague phrases, write the specific place or, if you don’t know it,
write “unknown place” which is even much more telling than simply “another place.”
3. There is some time reference missing here, like “One day…”
4. TENSES. If you continue reading, the next verb is “decides”, in the present tense, so
KEEP USING PRESENT TENSES.
5. This word should be an adjective describing the noun “way”: “unfortunate way”.
6. PRESENT TENSE.
7. THE plot.
 8. With ‘message’ you can use verbs like ‘communicate’/ ‘implies’. However, if you
decide to use “leave” (a message) you must say to whom. For example: “the message it
leaves on the gamers/ audience”.
9. “It’s A beautiful and well-written story.”
10. ‘Life is Strange’ can be replaced by “It”, so the verb is lacking the -s for present tense.
