O Wireless network is an interconnection of many systems capable of providing service to mobile users within a particular region. * In wireless network, data are carried by radio-waves from one node to another. * There is no physical cable / wire connecting to transfer file from mobile phone to pce. “* Bluetooth Technology in Mobile Computing _:- => Bluetooth technology is a high speed and low powered wireless technology designed to connect phones or other portable equipment for communication or file transmissions. This is based on mobile computing technology. = Bluetooth uses low power radio communications to link phones, computers and other network devices over a short distance without using any type of connecting wires. = The range of Bluetooth technology for data exchange was up to 10 meters in older versions of devices, but the latest version of Bluetooth technology i.e., Bluetooth 5.0, can exchange data in the range of about 40-400 meters. = As Bluetooth is an open wireless technology standard so, it is used to send or receive data to connected devices present across a certain distance using a band of 2.4 to 2.485 GHz. = Bluetooth technology was developed by a group of 5 companies known as Special Interest Group formed in 1998. The companies are Ericsson, Intel, Nokia, IBM, and Toshiba. > Transfer Files from PC to Android Wirelessly via Bluetooth :- * Ideally, the best way to transfer files from Windows to Android wirelessly is by using its Bluetooth feature. Since it is the native feature in both Android devices and Windows computers, you don't have to install any third-party applications. Just pair both devices once and manually select what you wish to transfer wirelessly via Bluetooth. Step 1: Pair your Windows PC and Android Device To do PC to Android file transfer wirelessly, you have to enable the Bluetooth feature on both devices. Now, go to your system's Settings > Bluetooth to find your Android device that should be placed nearby. Once you find your Android phone, select it from the list of the devices, and choose to pair it. A prompt would be displayed on your Android device regarding the Bluetooth connection that you can simply agree to. Step 2: Select the Files You Want to Transfer via Bluetooth Great! Once both the devices are paired, you can transfer files from PC to Android wirelessly. To do that, you can just go to the Bluetooth settings on your computer and choose to send or receive files. This will open a dedicated Bluetooth File Transfer wizard that you can follow to meet your requirements. At first, you can just select the connected Android phone to transfer your data. As you would proceed, you can manually browse the files that you wish to move and click on the “Next” button to wirelessly transfer files from PC to Android. Step 3: Accept the Incoming Data on your Android Lastly, you will get a prompt on your Android device about the incoming data. You can just tap on the “Accept” button and wait as your selected files would be transferred to the connected Android device. Y Limitations:- Takes a lot of time Only supports the transfer of selective data types. >» CLOUD COMMPUTING:- o The term cloud refers to a network or the internet. It is a technology that uses remote servers on the internet to store, manage, and access data online rather than local drives. The data can be anything such as files, images, documents, audio, video, and more. Storage [oe] fo] josie) COMPUTING Databased 0 aa NUS folKol |) CLOUD > tet JavaPpoint O How cloud commuting works ? 1) Storage Infrastructure: Cloud storage providers maintain large data centers equipped with vast arrays of storage servers. These servers store data redundantly across multiple physical locations to ensure data durability and availability. 2) Access and Management: Users access cloud storage through webbased interfaces or client applications provided by the cloud storage provider. These interfaces allow users to upload, download, and manage their files and data stored in the cloud. 3) Scalability: Cloud storage offers scalability, allowing users to store and retrieve varying amounts of data as needed. Users can easily increase or decrease their storage capacity based on their requirements without the need for physical hardware upgrades. 4) Data Security: Cloud storage providers implement robust security measures to protect users' data from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. This includes encryption of data both in transit and at rest, access control mechanisms, and regular security audits. 5) Redundancy and Reliability: Cloud storage systems replicate data across multiple servers and data centers to ensure redundancy and fault tolerance. This redundancy minimizes the risk of data loss due to hardware failures, natural disasters, or other disruptions. 6) Cost-Effectiveness: Cloud storage operates on a pay-as-you-go pricing model, where users only pay for the storage resources they consume. This makes cloud storage cost-effective for both individuals and businesses, as they do not need to invest in and maintain their own storage infrastructure. 7) Collaboration and Sharing: Cloud storage facilitates collaboration among users by allowing them to share files and data with others securely. Users can control access permissions, share links, and collaborate on documents in real-time, enhancing productivity and teamwork. 8) Integration and Compatibility: Cloud storage services often integrate with other applications and services, making it easy to synchronize data across multiple devices and platforms. This interoperability ensures seamless access to data from various devices and applications. WIFI - Wireless Fidelity :- Wifi is also known as Wireless Fidelity We are all familiar with Wi-Fi, which is available on our mobile phones, laptops, or wherever Wi-Fi is supported. Wi-Fi isa wireless networking technology that permits to connect wirelessly to a network or to other computer or mobile device. A circular radio frequency range is used to transmit data in Wi-Fi. Wi-fi operates like a local area network without the use of a wire or cables. WLAN stands for Wireless Local Area Network. Wi-Fi uses the Physical Data Link Layer (PDLL) to operate. The range relies on the router that offers radio frequency via Wi-Fi. Currently, these frequencies function on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bandwidths. For this, you would need to have Wi-Fi direct enabled on your device. There are several third-party clients like Nearby that you can also use to transfer files from PC to Android wirelessly. Step 1: Connect your Android and PC via Nearby You can start by installing the Nearby application on your PC and Android phone. Now, log into your account on both devices and go to the Android web feature on the device. This will let you scan the QR code that is displayed on your computer to connect your phone to it. Step 2: Upload your Files from your PC After connecting your phone to your computer, you can easily transfer files from PC to Android wirelessly. To do this, launch the Nearby application, select your device, and click on the attachment button to browse your data. You can also just directly drag and drop your files from your system to. Step 3: Download your Files from the Nereby App on your Phone To access these files on your phone, you can just launch the Nearby app on your phone and select the connected PC. Afterward, you can select the transferred file and tap on the download icon to save it on your phone. Limitations + Abit complicated to implement + Only works with 64 bit version of windows.
