STEM, ABM, HUMMS to open in SY 2024

Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen’s application for new Senior High School Offerings - STEM, ABM
and HUMMS for School year 2024 – 2025 was approved by regional evaluators last February 23.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics or STEM, Accountancy, Business and Management
or ABM and Humanities and Social Sciences or HUMMS are strands that students prefer to enroll in
senior high school as a resulted by a survey conducted by the Grade 12 advisers last January.

The Principal, Mrs. Jocelyn N. Nillasca together with the OIC, Head Teacher, Mrs. Ma. Catherine I.
Carmen and the Head of Technical Vocational Department, Mrs. Mary Rhea R. Ileto applied for the
opening of STEM and ABM strands last July 2023 and an ocular inspection followed last August of the
same year.

Currently, the school offers the General Academic Strand (GAS) and Technical Vocational and Livelihood
Tracks with Home Economics, Industrial Arts and Information and Communication Technology.

“We have noticed a number of completers transferring to other schools because of the SHS offerings
that we currently do not have in the school. Because of this, we did our best to apply for these strands
so that our students will no longer need to transfer to other schools,” said the Principal Mrs. Jocelyn N.
Nillasca.

They survey resulted with STEM as the strand most of the Grade 10 students prefer to enroll in senior
high school.

She added, “Ru aton nga mga teachers hay capable gid nga magturo sa rayang mga strands ag equipped
ru atong eskwelahan sa mga posible nga kinahang’eanon sa mga strands ngara kaya makasalig ru atong
mga unga nga ru kalidad it pagtueon-an hay una gid gihapon.” [Our teachers are capable of facilitating
learning in these strands and our school is equipped with the necessities so our students can be
guaranteed with the quality of education we continue to offer in our school.]

Presently, classrooms have been repaired and equipped with tools and equipment for the said SHS
offerings.
