Answer ALL the question in this paper.

1. Explain five benefits Kenya is likely to realise when graduates of the Competency Based
Curriculum (CBC) system of education enter the job market. (10 marks)

2. The Republic of Kusadikika has endeavoured to undertake a needs assessment to review


the basic education curriculum. With justification, give to the curriculum review team five
sources of ideas in the exercise. (10 marks)

3. Curriculum reform comes with new methods and strategic innovations that are geared
towards the achievement of the vision and mission of the new curriculum. As a primary
school teacher, explain five pedagogical innovations you should adopt to effectively
implement Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). (10 marks)

4. An agriculture teacher gave Grade 5 learners a task of transplanting kale seedlings from a
school vegetable nursery to a container. Learner’s activities in performance of the task
were spread over a number of days. The following table shows learners activities during
the first three days of performing the task. Teacher’s assessment points for each activity
are also given.

(c) Give two ways in which the learner can demonstrate creativity while performing
the task. (2 marks)

5. You are planning to carry out a monitoring survey on curriculum implementation for
Grades 1 to 4 in a few selected schools in your sub-county to establish the level of teacher
preparedness for implementation of Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). Develop a
questionnaire with suitable items to achieve the purpose of the survey. (10 marks)
