Rosary Prayer Oct.17
Rosary Prayer Oct.17
After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and
reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the
prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, “Oh you Pharisees! Although
you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil.
You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within,
give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.”
Reflection
In Jesus’ time, observing the law is strictly followed as the Pharisees are the religious
leaders back then who set the rules. It was then Jesus who does not take the rules literally
but instead, observed the underlying meaning of the tradition. He was referring to the
spirituality and the inner goodness of the person. No matter how organized or clean the
outside is, the inside of a person and his good acts are all that matters. The last statement of
Jesus also tells us to be charitable persons and always surrender ourselves to render out
service at times when it is needed by our fellow neighbors. What is important to you is it
intention or outcome? Why?
