What three factors do you consider most important in choosing a career and why? Write in 1-2
complete sentences.

1. I consider that salary is an important factor choosing a career as it is how much the job will pay
to you, which determines your life economic level.

2. Personal interests are a very important factor in choosing a career because people should
study something related to their passions.

3. The influence of teachers and educators is an important factor when choosing a career as it
can inspire students to pursue careers related to the fields they teach along with the way they do
it, which can also influence quite a lot on your interests and career choices.

Make a list of three costs related to choosing one career over another.

1. Time and effort: Dedicating many time and energy to one career may take time and effort that
could be spent on other interests or hobbies.

2. Miss opportunities: Choosing a career could mean sacrificing chances of gain up experience,
skills or relations that you could have gained in others.

3. Losing money: Choosing a career with a lower salary will lose and and cost the potential
money you may have gained from a higher-paying one.

Write 2-3 sentences explaining WHY a person would choose a degree that makes less money
over a degree that makes more money.

A person would choose a degree that makes less money over a degree that makes more since a
degree takes less time and money to achieve, so he or she may choose to pursue one with a less
earning potential to be able to enter a job faster and with less debt. In addition, personal reasons
like interest or a desire for a better work-life balance may put happiness above money. Lastly,
people may also be frustrated by the difficult requirements for a higher-paying degree, such as
difficult exams like the MCAT for medical school, and decide to look for something simpler
without taking into financial gains.
