METHOD STATEMENT
Delivery Equipment (Loading & Unloading)

Description

1.0 Objective

The purpose of this method statement is to describe the process of loading and unloading the
materials or equipments to the site.

2.0 Scope of works

The scope of works may engage such lifting equipment or mechanism by using manual handling,
pallet truck, forklift, excavator and cranes.

3.0 Procedure

3.1 Unloading the materials/equipment from lorry/truck.

a) Unloading the materials.

i) Using cranes or forklift or excavator, unload the equipment to the ground.

ii) During unloading, all workers must wear PPE to avoid any accident.
iii) While using a crane or excavator to unload the equipment, supervisor must have a
close supervision. If necessary, use a whistle to attract the crane driver to stop work

b) Moving the materials to building/container

i) Use suitable transport to move the materials to the building. In this case, forklift or
pallet truck can be use for moving the materials to the site.
ii) Only skilled worker is allowed to carry out the materials to the building using forklift
or pallet truck.
iii) Make sure loading materials is stable before lifting the equipments.
iv) Maintain a safe distance from the machine at all times during operation.
v) The access to the building must be cleared from any obstacles to avoid any
accident during transportation.

i) Make sure the loading operations are coordinated with all workers
ii) Make sure that there is enough space to loading the materials and maneuver the pallet
truck/forklift.
iii) Arrange the materials/equipments in good condition. Provide a safe route to all workers.
