Basic demand
Asia is the world's largest coffee consuming region, accounting for about 43% of
total global demand.
Vietnam is the second largest coffee exporter in the world, accounting for about
15% of the global market share.
The top coffee consuming countries in Asia include China, Japan, Korea and
Indonesia.
Demand for coffee in Asia is driven by population growth, increased urbanization
and changing lifestyles.
Potential
It is expected that demand for coffee in Asia will continue to grow due to a
growing population and improved living standards.
The specialty coffee market is growing strongly in major Asian cities, creating
opportunities for high-quality Vietnamese coffees.
Increased awareness of health and sustainability is also driving demand for organic
and fair trade coffee.
Free trade agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership
(RCEP) can help Vietnam access Asian markets more easily.
