Challenges

As Phase II is Greenfield development and

01
is done from scratch, the other phases are
all Brownfield development areas. This
means that there is already existing
infrastructure in the other three phases,
and obtaining land from landlords, felling
trees are problems faced by NHAI .

Phase IV of the road construction is

02
challenging because of the multiple trees
that are cut down in the Rajaji National
Park and the risk to the wildlife that the
construction seems to pose. Many
environmentalists are continuing to file
litigations opposing the felling of trees for
construction and widening of roads.
