Introduction
Our project aims to combat adolescent and youth drug
abuse, a pervasive issue with far-reaching consequences for
health, society, and the economy. Substance abuse leads to
addiction, health problems, academic and employment
hurdles, and increased crime rates. It's crucial to take
proactive measures to safeguard community well-being.

Conducted surveys targeting adult drug addicts to
understand their experiences and
lifestyle changes.

Future Scope
The recommendations for combating drug abuse in
the Gokulpuri community include enhancing
connections with treatment centers, establishing
robust monitoring systems, and sustaining advocacy
Project Cohorts
and awareness campaigns. These efforts aim to Pratyush Sudarshan (2K22/CO/344)
improve access to support services, monitor progress, Samarth Gupta (2K22/CO/402)
adapt interventions, challenge social norms, reduce
stigma, and create a supportive environment for Ravi Ranjan (2K22/CO/362)
individuals in recovery, ultimately leading to a
healthier, drug-free community.

Conclusion
In our assessment of drug abuse in the Gokulpuri community, we've gained insights
into its prevalence, patterns, and underlying causes, noting a shift in attitudes towards
seeking help, a reliance on drugs for coping with stress, and the influence of peer
pressure. Strong family support emerged as a crucial factor in encouraging individuals
to seek treatment, while our engagement initiatives fostered supportive networks and
empowerment within the community.
