 What is a contract …?

A contract is like a promise/written deal between people. ... Each person or

organization who agrees to do something in a contract is called a party.

An agreement, or a contract, says what you and the other person or

organization have agreed to do something at a specific time for an
identified benefit.

It is a written list of the promises you have made.

 A contract is a legally binding document
between at least two parties that
defines and governs their rights and
identifies their duties of the parties to an
agreement. A contract is legally
enforceable because it meets the
requirements and approval of the law.

In other words, the contract is a written

agreement, especially one concerning
employment, sales, services, or tenancy, that is
intended to be enforceable by law.

 Contracts ensure that your interests are protected by law and that both parties
will fulfill their obligations as promised. If a party breaks the contract, there will
be certain solutions available to the parties (known as 'remedies').

Where possible, it is best to write a contract down. If the parties disagree on the
terms of the contract or they are unclear, it will be up to a court to decide what
those terms meant. The court will then have to look at how the services,
promises, and exchanges were carried out in order to identify the parties'
intentions.
