Chemistry Introduction to Chemistry

TEACHING GOALS
Students are being instructed to use the learning resources effectively.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
TSWBAT

● Understand the basic principles of Chemistry.


● Identify and describe the three states of matter.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES

Introduction (15 minutes):


• Begin by discussing what students know about Chemistry. Ask them questions such
as "What do you think Chemistry is?" and "Why is Chemistry important?"

Basic Concepts (15 minutes):


• Define Chemistry as the study of matter, its properties, and how it interacts with
other matter.
• Explain that everything around us is made up of matter, including the air we breathe,
the food we eat, and even ourselves.

Presentation: States of Matter (15 minutes):


• Introduce the three states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.
• Discuss the characteristics of each state.
• Show visuals or conduct simple demonstrations to illustrate the differences.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE

• On daily basis, evaluate students’ understanding through class participation, discussion,


and completion of class activities or homework.
• At the end of the chapter, a short quiz is given to assess the students’ knowledge of
key concepts.

REMARKS

This lesson plan is a basic introduction to Chemistry and can be adapted to suit the specific
