Particulars of organization/ functions and duties
Name of department :- Bridge project

Functions and duties are as under:

The Bridge Project Division of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation carries out the
following functions:
 Construction and maintenance of Bridges within AMC limits
 Construction and maintenance of Culverts within AMC limits
 Construction and maintenance of Underpass within AMC limits
 Construction and maintenance of Flyovers within AMC limits
 Construction and maintenance of Road Over Bridges with AMC limits

The Bridge Project Division of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation carries out the
following duties:

 Carry out Traffic Survey with approved Consultant & Educational Institute
 Appointing Design Consultant for Carry out Survey
 Taking measurements
 Preparing estimates
 Inspection of Bridges with Empanled Inspection Consultant
 Maintenance of Bridge
 Appointing PMC Agency for Supervision of Bridge Work for Miscelleneous Work
 Supervision of work
 Execution of work
 Record measurement book

Department would cross verify of Measurement & Quality
randomly.

Procedure followed for decision making:-

Proposals are generally generated at grass root level either in house or through competent
consulting agencies & submitted to higher authorities-Committees for approval &
implementation of sanctioned works & all the corresponding procedure is followed.

Norms set for discharge of functions:-

To complete all the assigned works as specified within stipulated time limit.

Rules/regulations/instructions/manuals/records held:-
All the record likes original files, Measurement books, Steel/Cement/Cube & other
corresponding registers, etc.
