SUMMER VACATION TASKS:

MATH

CLASS 5

Assignment 1:

Create a booklet
 Definition of HCF and LCM
 showcases real-world applications of HCF and LCM.

Assignment 2:

Make a chart Title: "Number Explorer's Journey"

Color Scheme:

- Prime numbers: Red

- Multiples of 5: Blue
- Multiples of 10: Green
- Other numbers: Gray

Design:

1. Divide the chart into sections, each

representing a range of numbers.
2. Use a large, bold font to write the numbers ,
with prime numbers in red, multiples of 5 in
blue, and multiples of 10 in green.
3. Add visual elements to highlight patterns and relationships:

- Add icons or images to represent real-world applications of numbers (e.g., a clock

for 12, a soccer ball for 11).

Prime Number Section:

- Highlight the prime numbers in red.

- Add a few fun facts about prime numbers, such as their importance in cryptography
and coding theory.

Multiples of 5 Section:
- Highlight the multiples of 5 (5, 10, 15, ...) in blue.
- Add a few real-world examples of multiples of 5, such as the number of fingers on a
hand or the number of points on a star.

Multiples of 10 Section:

- Highlight the multiples of 10 (10, 20, 30, ...) in green.

- Add a few real-world examples of multiples of 10, such as the number of minutes in
an hour or the number of days in a decade.

Assignment 3:

Secret Code Activity

Code Name: "Prime Guardian"

Objective: Unlock the secret code by finding the HCF of two numbers.

Materials:

- A coded message
- Two numbers
- A calculator
- A pencil and paper
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Read the coded message

2. Find the HCF of the two given numbers (18 and 24).
3. Use the result to decode the message or riddle.

Coded Message:
MAX LXVKXM VHWX CL GS YTOHKML ZTGX
Riddle: Find the HCF of 18 and 24 to reveal the password.
Note : Certainly! Sharing the game concept with friends offers a fun challenge of
decoding secret messages using prime numbers. This activity reflects real-life
applications of prime numbers, especially in cryptography and secure
communication.

HINT
1. Find the HCF of 18 and 24: 6
2. Use the result to decode the
message:
- Replace each letter with the
letter six positions ahead of it in
the alphabet ( wrapping around to
the beginning of the alphabet
when necessary).
- The decoded message reads:
THE SECRET CODE IS MY
FAVORITE GAME
