Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (Summer EBT) is a new permanent food benefit program for eligible families
beginning in summer of 2024. Summer EBT provides families with school-aged children eligible for free or
reduced-price school meals $120 per child during the summer months to purchase healthy foods with funds
placed on their Summer- EBT cards. The Pandemic-EBT program has ended. All P-EBT benefits have been
distributed and the No additional benefits will be disbursed.

Please listen to the following frequently asked questions: Who is eligible for S-EBT? Answer: Students
eligible for S-EBT must be enrolled in an NSLP/SBP school, completed free and reduced lunch
application, and the application for those benefits must have been approved by the school.
Students who are not enrolled in an NSLP/SBP school can still be eligible for S-EBT if they are foster
children or receive SNAP, Tribal TANF, MFIP or medical assistance.
Question: What application do I need to submit to become eligible? Answer: Children who are enrolled
in NSLP/SBP schools can establish eligibility for Summer EBT by completing, submitting and being
approved for free and reduced lunch that is provided by their schools. Households with students who
receive MFIP, Tribal TANF, SNAP and/or medical assistance are automatically eligible for S-EBT and do
not need to complete an application.
Question What is the deadline to submit the application? Answer: Households with students enrolled
in an NSLP/SBP school can apply for Summer EBT at any point between the start of the immediately
preceding school year and the last day of the summer operational period.
Household with students who receive MFIP, Tribal TANF, SNAP and/or medical assistance are
automatically eligible for S-EBT and do not need to complete an application.
Question: When will benefit be disbursed? Answer Summer EBT benefits will be disbursed during the
summer months of 2024
