1. SUMMARY
The MNSiS MBTCP Library is a Layer around the Minerals Library Consumer Objects and
integrates the Communication to the MNSiS Motor Control Center via Modbus TCP.
This document contains a detailed description of the following Objects:
MNSiS_MBTCP_Comm
MOT1_MNSiS_MBTCP
MOT2_MNSiS_MBTCP
MOTP_MNSiS_MBTCP
3. CONFIGURATION
3.1 MNS iS
Proposed MNavigate Installation: Server installed on the Main Engineering PC (or any
other Server) and Clients installed on all Engineering/Maintenance PC’s.
To be able to use the “Show Web Page” Feature in MNavigate without the “Information
Bar” in Internet Explorer popping up, the Option “Allow Active Content to run in files on My
Computer” has to be set in Internet Explorer under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.
3.1.3 MLink
Modbus configuration is shown in the following Picture.
Note that the SlaveAddress currently can not be configured in Control Builder M CI867
Modbus TCP Slave.
NTP could be configured to ensure the Time is in sync with the System. However,
currently no Timezones can be configured on the MLink, so GMT is shown (means the
Time on the MLink will be different compared to the 800xA System Time).
PLC TimeOutEnable must be set to Yes other wise communication
errors are not detected and failsafe action will not be executed. In
case of multi mastering extended failsafe must be configured as well.
It is recommended to configure at least two Users for the MView Web Interface. One with
all Rights, used to configure the MCC, and a restricted User that can only view the current
Status and is used by the Operators via the Faceplate Extended Info Link.
Username Password Description
Operator User
mview mview User with only Read rights, used for the MView Link in Faceplates
Maintenance User
Maintenance *Project Specific User with all rights for the Electrical/Maintenance Engineer
4. CONTROL
MCC Parameters are not available, else no difference to BMI Consumer Objects.
5. OPERATION
5.1 Alarms
The following Alarms are generated for the Motor Control Center
IOS Indication of I/O sub-system fault which includes Modbus
Communication broken or MControl not available (no alarm
generated)
ME Indication of control voltage circuit fault (no alarm generated).
Inhibits the M1..M3, LCB alarms below.
The MControl calculates the Time until the Drive will be tripped with Overload. This Time
To Trip is shown to the Operator replacing the normal Overcurrent Alarm Message on the
Faceplate of the MOT1 and MOT2 Control Modules.
The same information is given for Drives that tripped with Overload and, after the Alarm is
acknowledged, can only be started after the Thermal Image has reached a lower Value.
This is called Time To Reset and the remaining Time is shown in the Faceplate similar to
“Time To Trip”, replacing the Not Ready error.
5.2 Events
The following Detail Information about Alarms is transferred over Modbus and shown in
the Event List (“Extended Info” in Faceplate) in case of Warning or Trip. The Availability of
this Information depends on the Configuration of the MControl Parameters.
Following a List of all Alarms from the MControl for which Events are generated.
ContactTemperatureL1A LocationSupervision
ContactTemperatureL2A PowerModuleSupervision
ContactTemperatureL3A PowerModuleSupervision1
ContactTempUnbalance NoLoad
ControlVoltage PhaseFailure
EarthLeakage PhaseUnbalance
EmStop PTCsupervision
ExternalTrip1 PTCsupervisionOpenCircuit

FuseSupervisionL1 Stall
FuseSupervisionL2 StarDeltaTransitionFailed
FuseSupervisionL3 TOL
PowerModuleInsertionCycles Underload
IRFHardware UnderloadCosPhi
MotorStillRunning Undervoltage
IRFSoftware Welded
Additionally, the following Events are generated out of the status of each MControl:
MStart MainSw (not) On Event if Main Switch is switched On or Off
MStart MainSw in Test Event if Main Switch is switched to Test Position
MControl in Failsafe Event if MControl is in Failsafe Mode. If this happens,
the Communication between MLink and Controller is
probably to slow or the Timeouts are not configured
Acess to extended
Information
The MLink IP (above 172.16.4.1), Login credentials (mview) and MStart Position need to
be configured in the Status Aspect.
An example Webpage is distributed with the template Aspect in the Library and should
already contain a suitable default configuration like the following:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;
url=http://172.16.4.100/direct.php?login=mview&passwd=mview&CU=1&MC=2">
</head>
<body>
Loading MView Web Interface...
</body>
</html>
The MineralsLib WebView Uploader Tool is used to automatically fill in the Information to
link to the correct Webpage (MLink IP and the Cubicle / Position).
This can only be done on a PC with 800xA installed and the MNavigate Project Folder
present. The Uploader Tool is found in the Object Type Structure, on the
BMI_MNSiS_MBTCP Library Object.
First the Applications and MLinks need to be selected:
Doc. kind Reference Manual Project Minerals Template Library

Then, a parameter of the Control Modules and a corresponding String in the MLink
Configuration needs to be selected. The Regular Expression used to compare these can
also be adjusted. The right column in the Rules Tab shows some examples of the results.
Finally, a click on the “Start Upload” Button will loop through all MOTx_MNSiS_MBTCP
Blocks in the selected Applications and replace the Text in their Status Aspect to link to
the correct Module in the correct MLink.
The Content Tab can be used to replace the whole Website code in all Status Aspects
during the Upload. If the “Overwrite Content in Aspects” Checkbox is left unchecked, the
existing Website code in the Status Aspect of the respective Motor Object will be used.
This should be ok as long as the login credentials are not changed from the standard
(login=mview&passwd=mview) as described under MLink Configuration.
Else just mark the “Overwrite Content in Aspects” Checkbox and paste your own code for
the website into the Textbox. The IP Address as well as Cubicle and Position will be
replaced during the Upload process and should contain some example Values for the
Regular Expression to match. Just use the supplied example above if in doubt.
Some more Configuration for this Tool is available in [Library Structure] Preferences &
Customizations/MineralsLib 5_0 MNSiS_MBTCP Customization/WebViewUploadConfig. If
MNavigate is not installed on the local PC, or the Project is not in the usual Path, the
Parameter “MNavigateProjPath” needs to be adjusted.
5.4.2 Trend
The Trend is configured to show the Current of Phase 1, the Power (if available, else this
Value will stay 0), and the Value of the Thermal Image.
6. MNSiS_MBTCP_Comm
6.2 CONTROL
On the MLink side the “PLC Timeout” must be set to the same time as
the “Watchdog Timeout” in the MNSiS_MBTCP_Comm Control
Module. For highest safety “CommImediateRestart” must be set to
“false”.
6.3 OPERATION
There are 4 DIC Blocks included in this Module, which correspond to the 4 Alarms issued
by the Module.
