Travel and Transport

Travel Is the general term for travelling from one place to another.
Journey Is to go from one place to another, usually long distance and using a vehicle.
Trip Is to go somewhere and return again. Usually for a short time: business trip, school
trip. It is the journey and the whole time you are away from home.
Way A route, direction or path
Holiday A time when someone does not go to work or school but is free to do what they
want, such as travel or relax. You will also hear: Vaccation / Annual leave
When we travel we go by car, train, bus, plane, bike, foot ...
The verb go in English means to travel or move to another place. It is not necessary to say how.
„Maybe we could go to the beach at the weekend.“

„We went to Prague last weekend.“

*You could replace the verbs with drive, ride, walk if you wanted to be more specific.

nip /pop - to go somewhere (short distance) quickly or be somewhere for only a short time (UK informal)
