ASSESSMENT
I.DIRECTION: Write the simple past tense of the verb in the parentheses.
DIRECTION: Think and share your experiences during weekends and underline the past and past perfect tenses.
Verbs are words that describe an action or occurrence or indicate a state of being.
Regular Verb is one that follows the usual rule for forming its simple past tense.
Irregular Verb do not follow the normal pattern in forming the past tense.
Simple Past Tense of the verb is used to express an action that happened and ended in the past.
Commonly, simple past is signaled by time indicators in the past, e.g. last week, last weekend, yesterday, a
year ago, last year, last night, before, when, by the time, etc.
The Past Perfect Tense portrays an earlier action before another action happened as portrayed by the
simple past tense.
There are time indicators used in indicating past perfect tense. After, as soon as, the
moment that, and until are used before the past perfect tense while last week, last weekend, yesterday, a year
ago, last year, last night, before, when, and by the time are used before simple past tense.
Example 1: Mercy had eaten her breakfast before Juanito asked her to do so.

ASSIGNMENT
DIRECTION: Form sentences using the given words and appropriate tense of the verb.
1. Children (read) a lot about elephants before they (go) to the zoo.
2. My father (call) us after the plane (land).
3. After Pido (wash) his hands, he (eat) his breakfast.
4. The baby (cry) before his father (come).
5. The music (start) when the curtains (open).
