So, today we’re going to have a new lesson on

defining theorems on different parallelogram
(rectangle, rhombus, square).
Review (3 mins)

The teacher will their name randomly to identify

the student who will answer the questions flash
on the screen.

1. What is a parallelogram?
-Sir, a parallelogram is a shape that
each opposites sides and angle have
the same measure or value
Very Good, Reniel!

2. When do we say that the opposite sides and

-Sir! We can say that the opposites
angles are congruent?
side and angles are congruent when
it has the same measure of length
and angles.
Nice idea, Mae!

3. How do we say that line is a parallel?

-Sir, we can say that the lines are
parallel when two lines do not meet
each other.
Good job, Carol!
Motivation (5 mins)

Crossword Puzzle!
Do you know how to play crossword puzzle? -Yes sir!

polygon or two-dimensional shape,
that has all its sides equal and all
the angles equal to 90 degrees.
DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES (15 minutes)

A. ACTIVITY
Class, are you ready for our activity this
-Yes, Sir.
morning?
This activity is titled “Fit Me!”
The objective of this activity is to help you
understand and discover the theorems of
parallelogram (rectangle, rhombus, square).

Here is how we are going to conduct the activity.

FIT ME!
Direction: The student will be divided into 5
groups. You will be given a piece of cut bond
paper (which consist a different shape related to
our future topic). All you have to do is to fit the
cutting paper and paste it to the given manila
paper afterwards, you have to discuss if what
shape you we’re to discover on the given activity.

Materials:
-Manila Paper
- Bond paper
-Scotch tape *The class perform the activity.

B. ANALYSIS (7 Minutes)

Class, how did you find the activity? -Sir, it was all fun and we learned a
lot!
Good to hear that, Marry Joy.

Let's attempt to address the following questions

based on the activity:

1. How did you discover the rectangle -Sir, based on the activity, we
shape? discovered that the shape is
rectangle by connecting the cut
-Very well said, Elma! bond paper and finding it pair.

2. How did you discover the rhombus -Sir from your given cut bond paper,
shape? we try to look out first the half of
shape and the we found out that the
shape is triangle, and then we
connect the counterpart of shape,
-Very good Josh! and from that we discover that the
shape we’ve got is rhombus.
3. How did you discover the Square?
-Sir, it was easy to connect the
-Very nice Anne! shape since when we look out the
shape has it the same side of length.
You are all correct.
C. ABSTRACTION (13 minutes)
Now, in your own words what is theorem? *Students answer may vary

Great job, everyone! It’s fantastic to hear your

own explanations about theorems.
Understanding these concepts in your own
words shows a strong grasp of the lesson.

Now let’s delve deeper into how these postulates

formally defined.

Theorem
- A theorem can be defined as a statement that
can be proved to be true based on known and
proved facts.

Rectangle Theorem
Theorem 1- A rectangle is a parallelogram.
Rectangle.
Theorem 2- A rectangle has congruent
diagonals.
Theorem 3 (Converse)- If a parallelogram has
congruent diagonals, then it is a rectangle.

Rhombus Theorem
Theorem 1- A rhombus is a parallelogram
Theorem 2- The diagonals of a rhombus are
perpendicular.
Theorem 3- The diagonals of a rhombus bisect
its angles.

Square Theorem
Theorem 1- All four sides of the square are
congruent or equal to each other.
Theorem 2- The opposite sides of the square are
parallel to each other.
Theorem 3- The diagonals of the square bisect
each other at 90° The two diagonals of the
square are equal to each other.
D.APPLICATION (10 minutes)

perpendicular. 1. Rhombus Theorem 2
2. Rectangle Theorem 2
2. This shape has a congruent diagonal
3. Square Theorem 1

or equal to each other. 5. Square Theorem 2
4. This is a diagonal shape that bisect its
angles.
5. The opposites sides of this shape are
parallel to each other.

ASSIGNMENT (2 minutes)
