prepositions affect the meaning of a sentence.

and competent English language user in various personal, academic, and professional contexts.
Problem Statement
Use appropriate prepositions in the sentences.

Instructions: In Task 1, you must fill in each blank with the appropriate preposition and in Task 2, you have to
determine whether the statement is correct or incorrect based on the use of prepositions.

Task 1: Fill in the blanks with the appropriate prepositions (at, in, on, above, behind, over, across,
under, with). Make sure to highlight the prepositions you use.
E.g., The pot is ____ the stove.
The pot is on the stove.

• The picture is hanging ___ the wall.

• The movie starts ___ 7 PM.

• The car is parked ____ the garage.

• The cat jumped ___ the fence.

• I have an appointment ___ the dentist.

Task 2: Determine whether the statement is correct or incorrect based on the use of prepositions.
Write Correct/Incorrect in front of the statements accordingly.
E.g., The pot is at the stove. Incorrect

1. The keys are in the car.

2. The car is behind the tree.

3. The birthday party is at Sunday.

4. The paper is on my desk.


5. The cat is hiding on the sofa.
