• The settings get applied instantly but visibility depends upon RBP

• Defines which Sections would be visible to which permission roles
• Each section represents navigation tab just below the People Profile header for quick jump to top of those sections

3. Employee Data Permissions to View and Edit Live Profile & EC information fields and blocks and To View Employee Photo
• Pay extra attention while giving permission to certain fields like EP system fields (synched from EC) and Ratings fields
• The visibility of Photo of any employee almost everywhere in SF is controlled by View permission to Photo field under Employee Data permissions

4. Module specific permissions control the visibility and editability of respective Blocks
• For EC related Blocks, visibility is fully controlled as per RBP settings
• For other Talent modules, the visibility and edit of information is controlled by combination of RBP settings and template based permissions

5. Special Settings for Extra Privacy of Personal Data: Encryption of User ID in URL; Hide Private Data from Proxy users
• User ID could be shown as encrypted in the People profile URL using a Provisioning setting
• All Private data of an employee could be hidden from the users viewing the profile throgh proxy feature – In the Grant Proxy Rights section, do not select “Private Data For Proxy Account Holder”
while selecting “Employee Central V2 + Employee Profile”
• To remove the photo from the header entirely, for all users, use the respective People Profile Header setting instead of unchecking view permission in each permission role

Impact of EC Implementation on Employee Profile and Other Existing SF Modules
Impor t ant Points to Note

1. Employee Profile is the foundation structure for storing the core Employee Data that are used across SF Suite
• Various EP fields are used by various SF modules
• Any change made to the values or properties of those fields could affect other modules using those.

2. When EC is enabled, EC becomes the true and single source of information fed to EP
• Value of key data of employee is fed and kept in sync from EC to EP through a scheduled job called “HRIS Sync” and uses a mapping of EC to EP fields
• Due to enablement of the EC, the value structure of existing EP fields would change from simple text values to object values (text but in name (code) format.

3. There is already a hard-coded mapping in SF from EC to EP for key data fields of employee
• The detailed information regarding such hard coded mapping could be found at https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/0002172427
• The KBA also provides information about custom field mapping for HRIS Sync, what to avoid and what overwrites are possible.

4. EP fields of picklist type are affected when the corresponding source field in EC is of object type.
• For other modules, the EP fields which could have list of defined values appear as picklist.
• When EC is enabled, the fields for foundation data changes to object type and therefore, the value structure changes

5. The EP fields used as filters in permission groups also get affected.

Some issues and special use-cases encountered during conf igur ation

Placing CSF fields next to Global fields

Double Row within a row layout

• Some issues are resolved by drag and slow “feel around“ move
• For placing few or all of 4 fields in a row to up or down in the order of fields‘ rows, hold and drag the
row itself and then adjust
Orphan Field – Not in any display row
• Mixing of CSF fields with Global is not possible in Personal Info.
• For missing field cases, try “export and reimport of latest succession data models. If not, then refresh
OData metadata. If still not, then replace PP3 MDF object with a working one from another instance. If
not possible, then remove the affected block , save the config and add back the block. At last give a
try to directly edit the MDF object.
