Who we are
We are Artworks, the Everybody School of
Art.
We think that opportunity and engagement
with art can make things better for everyone
and should be available to all.
What we do
We nurture and celebrate creativity by
connecting people with art through a varied
programme of activities and opportunities
suitable for all ages and abilities.
What’s on at Artworks?
Learning:
Think, express and communicate in new
ways through inspirational and instructional
courses, workshops and resources delivered
by artists.
We run both on site learning (face to face,
hands on sessions in our authentic art
school) plus home learning (online and
distance sessions at your own pace in your
own time).
Explore other subjects through art like
Activism, The Environment, Maths and
English!
Support your wellbeing and find creative
ideas for self care, meet friends and like
minded people, develop a portfolio for fur-
ther study and enhance your creativity with
specialist skills and techniques. Suitable for
all ages and abilities. Access funds and con-
cessions available.
Practice
We offer time, space and resources for
artists and creatives to develop their work.
Residencies, opportunities, drop in sessions,
meetups, peer groups, open access, desk
space, private and communal 24 hour
access studio space.
Hire
Our spaces and facilities are available to hire
for events, making and photographing work
training sessions, weddings or conferences.

Schools
At a time when arts subjects are
underfunded and under threat in schools
we provide tailored support to teachers and
students at primary and secondary level.
We bring artists into schools, train and
advise staff and welcome children and
teachers to our space where a combination
of art studios, gallery and teaching spaces
mean that there’s always something
different to see and do.

Art is a brilliant way to confront challenges
that touch us all. Every year we create
community focused projects aimed at
tackling social issues.

in Halifax where you will find our art school,
gallery and studios jam packed with artists,
art work and art making facilities! You can
