Script for Slithero and Viperette

EXT

The Orange snakes have gathered outside. They are chatting

amongst themselves (undistinguished chatter). Suddenly, the
Green snakes appear. They begin hissing at each other.

RUMPLESNAKESKIN

(To the other orange snakes) Hey, watch this.

Rumplesnakeskin flicks his tail at the Green snakes (a very

disrespectful action in snake culture). The Green snakes gasp.

SNAKERDOODLE

Did you just flick your tail at us? How dare you,
you slippery sausage!

A fight ensues. One of the Orange snake’s gets injured. They

run away but before they are out of frame one of the Orange
snakes, Slithero tosses a crumpled-up piece of paper at
VIPERTTE, one of the Green snakes. She reads it. The paper
enlarges so that the audience can see it. It says ‘Meet me
Tonight – Slithero’

EXT NGHTTIME

Slithero is waiting for VIPERTTE, sat on a bench. She finally

appears. He gets up from the bench.

SLITHERO

Finally! I thought you were never going to turn up.

VIPERETTE

I had to wait for everyone to fall asleep.

The two snakes kiss and go to sit on a nearby bench.

VIPERETTE

I love you, Slithero.

SLITHERO

I love you too, VIPERETTE.

 SLITHERO

I hate having to hide our love.

VIPERETTE Sighs

VIPERETTE

Me too. This war between our two families has gone

on too long.

Slithero slithers away and looks up at the sky. He looks deep

in thought. He turns back to Viperette.

SLITHERO

We could run away together.

Viperette is deep in thought.

VIPERETTE

Yes. Let’s do it.

SLITHERO

Really? You’ll run away with me?

VIPERETTE

Yes! I agree this war is stupid. I can’t take part

in it anymore. I just want to be with you.

The two snakes kiss goodbye and leave in separate directions.

EXT THE NEXT MORNING.

Slithero and Viperette are running away. They have bags with
them. Suddenly, Snakerdoodle and David Boa appear.

SNAKERDOODLE

Hey! Stop there!

He slithers up to them.

SNAKERDOODLE
 I knew that there was something untoward going on
between you two! Viperette, how dare you abandon your family
for an Orange snake.

VIPERETTE

But I love him!

DAVID BOA

Silence! This ends now!

David Boa and Snakerdoodle begin hissing, like they’re going

to attack. Suddenly, Rumplesnakeskin and Snakespeare, the
other two orange snakes, appear.

RUMPLESNAKESKIN

Look at this, an ambush! Now this is hardly a fair

fight!

SNAKERDOODLE

You want a fight, buddy boy? I’ll give you a fight.

The screen fades to black and comic book style words appear on
the screen.

VIPERETTE

(Crying out) Stop! Look at what you’ve done! This

has gone too far now.

SNAKESPEARE

She’s right. This war between us has gone on too

long.

SNAKERDOODLE

(Sighs) I hate to admit it but I agree. I forgot why

we even started fighting in the first place.

He turns towards the couple

Viperette, Slithero, we support your relationship.

 SLITHERO

Thank you, thank you all.

VIPERETTE

Now we can be together!

The couple embraces.

EXT

A sign says ‘a few years later’. We see Viperette and Slithero

with a baby snake. It is green with yellow spots
