Since ancient times the quintessential elements of Artificial Intelligence are rooted in myths and

come a long way. It is revolutionizing today’s world, but not solely for the better. This essay addresses
AI’s potentiality to dominate Asian industries, a power with which come great ethical concerns.

Benefits to the healthcare industry have been numerous – both for medical facilities and for patients.
Covid-19 brought our lifestyles to a crashing halt. In order to combat the increasingly dangerous
situation at hand, several countries turned to AI for help. Taiwan made use of infra-red detection
equipment and AI masks to identify high temperatures. India developed several apps that could
monitor personal well-being.
Today, traditional classrooms are seeing the introduction of robots as teaching assistants. Work in
accounting and other legal fields has been simplified with the usage of pattern recognition and in-
depth analysis. The manufacturing sector has grown at an exponential rate by incorporating AI into
the process.
Yet, for every task made easy, every process made quicker and every solution made more innovative,
Asian industries and economy are beginning to rely more on AI. What are the risks and challenges
associated with such a dependent relationship?
Stephen Hawking, world-renowned physicist, feared that further development and enhancement of AI
could “spell the end of the human race.” The philosopher Nick Bostrom stressed on the fact that while
AI might be able to achieve what human intelligence could perhaps not imagine, it would lack all
