SUBJECT : SHOOTING INCIDENT NEAR ZRP ZEZANI BY NUMBER 046146H

ASSISTANT INSPECTOR ALIDI MARIZANI [ZRP ZEZANI]

INFORMANT : MARIZANI ALIDI NR 66-056951-H-66 a male adult aged 46 years residing at

ZRP ZEZANI. HE IS AN ASSISTANT INSPECTOR IN THE POLICE FORCE NUMBER

CIRCUMSTANCES
1. On the 11th day of April 2024 and at about 1846 hours Assistant Inspector Alidi Marizani received a phone
call from number 065512H Cst Chingwa Against and number 085790Z Cst Mautsi Tanaka who were on patrol
informing him that they saw two vehicles heading towards Zezani and the vehicles appeared to be ferrying
heavy luggage which they suspected to be stock.
2. At around 1900 hours Assistant Inspector Alidi went to the charge office booked out an FN rifle serial number
10298 which was loaded with 10 rounds teamed up with Cst Gomo and Cst Muponda and went to the gate to
mann a roadblock.
3. After a few minutes a silver grey Toyota Baby Quantum registration number AFD 9541 which was driven by an
unknown male adult came from the western side of ZRP Zezani, Cst Gomo waved the vehicle to stop but the
driver did not stop.
4. Assistant inspector Alidi fired two warning shots in the air but still the driver drove away.
5. Assistant inspector Alidi then tried to shoot the rear tyre of the vehicle but instead he shot the driver resulting
to his death.
6. The vehicle moved for about 50 metres from the scene and it stopped facing the gate of Keabetso Tlou N.R 02-
046648 R 02 homestead.
7. The police officers then rushed to the vehicle and before they could arrive they saw more than ten male adults
passengers disembarking from the vehicle and disappearing into the bush.
8. When the police officers arrived at the vehicle they noticed that there was bullet hole on the rear wind screen
and coming out through the front wind screen direct to the driver’s seat and a lifeless body of an unknown
male adult person which was lying between the driver and passenger seat.
9. There was also pool of blood on the driver’s side floor near the pedals, also blood stains where noticed on the
front window screen.
11. The vehicle was searched and nothing of police interest was found
