Maintenance Unit BMU)

RISK ASSESSMENT

1. The site is near to other commercial/offices/building where people are passing/walking in

the site during working hours.
2. There is a potential for the public to be hit by falling objects related to the installation
process on the site.
3. There is a potential for construction building debris (including wind-blown debris) to
leave the site inadequate waste containment.
4. Severe head injuries for people standing underneath.
5. Suspended working platform (cradle-building maintenance unit) will fold and tilt or lean
when lifted from the roof top.
6. Operators may fallout.
7. Cradle is heavy, awkward and rolling on to feet.

METHOD STATEMENT APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Provision of Temporary Fencing to the Work Area

a. Provision of a temporary fencing to the work area with Aluminum Sheet framed in a
G.I. pipe and fix to the concrete block base at a minimum height of 2.00 meters.
b. Provide safety and warning signs on the perimeter fence.
c. To restrict access to unauthorized persons to worksites, events and restricted areas.
d. To prevent operations within the area from impacting outside and prevent materials,
rubbish and debris from escaping from the worksites.

n. Suspended working platform (Crudlc-Building Mainlcnuncc Unil (BMU)) is used to

curry workers. site personnel or engineers for working al height or substitute for
scaffolding.
b. Safety of men nnd mutcrinls is n high priority for client. All safety measures will be
observed during the entire works. Detailed safety measures for every works will be
elaborated and basic account of the strategy/instruction is given under like toolbox
meeting before staiting the work.
c. A trained Supervisor will be deputed in the site to ensure proper execution of the
work and to enforce all safety measures to be complied before and after by the
workers/technicians.
d. During the above operations, workers/technicians shall comply all safety measures
such as helmets, coveralls, safety shoes and safety belt which will be clipped to the
secured places.
e. All the activities will be envisaged a week in advance and job safety requirements
will be worked out by analyzing the likely hazards and resorting to preventive.
f. Proper housekeeping at the end of the day is a part of the mandatory tasks assigned to
workers to avoid accidents due to littered tools and materials.
g. Weekly tool box meeting will be conducted and brief safety measures required for the
ensuring days will be discussed.
h. First aid facility will be available in the entire period in the work site.
