Question 1.

Volunteerism is an act of offering services and helps to society by a person willingly

without expecting any rewards. This act of service can be as simple as giving a helping hand

by donating our used clothes to others. Having volunteering experiences can be a benefit for

some people, especially university students. Instead of burdening themselves with the stress

of studying, university students should be involved in volunteer work more because it will

help them in building social skills, improving their mental and physical health, and

developing their skill set.

Volunteer work will be really a great place for an individual who wants to start in

building their social skills, especially introverts. Being an introvert will make you feel

anxious and afraid in socializing with people around you however, if you are in a state of

desperation and the need to socialize in order for you to complete a particular task, you will

try to encourage yourself in building your social skills especially in doing the volunteer work

as we need to communicate with a lot of people. Other than that, while building social skills,

one can also develop their social skills by interacting with people from the organization or

outside of the organization professionally. This could occur when ones spend a lot of time

communicating and socializing with others.

Living a student life can be a stressful time and the pressure to do well in exams can

be overwhelming for some students. Involving in volunteer work can be another way to

release stress and it can improve both mental and physical health, and taking time away from

studies to do something meaningful is often just what students need to reset and rest their

minds. Volunteering at a young age encourages students to become socially conscious

individuals at all stages of life.

Moreover, through volunteer work, ones can develop new skill sets and hone their

existing knowledge throughout the process. When volunteering, we will be doing various

types of work that we have never thought of we will be doing such as street canvassing,

planting trees, or working with children or the elderly. Whatever you do as a volunteer, you

will be challenged to try new things and learn new skills. The positive result of volunteering

has been shown in improving an individual skill in leadership, communication, and

fundraising abilities. Thus, all these skills being developed during the volunteer work could

be used by the students in their future careers.

In conclusion, volunteering has numerous benefits for students, ranging from health to

skills and social networks. It is a fantastic extra-curricular activity for students to participate

in. University student can build their social skills, improve their mental and physical health,

and develop their skill set by volunteering. Thus, university students should be involved in
