Connect the ControlLogix and the IV2 Series as shown below.

CHAPTER 3 Settings for Communication
Use the Ethernet cable OP-87951 to connect Select “Advanced Settings”  “Utility”  “FieldNet/
1 IV2 to your PC 4 Comm. Unit(DL)”, and set the Protocol to “EtherNet/IP”

2 Start IV2-Navigator

Double click the icon of IV2-Navigator 5 Set the IP address of IV2 (“192.168.10.51”).
on your desktop.

3 Select “Network Connection” and connect to IV2

Please be sure that your PC’s IP address is fixed, and the IP


address of IV2 is initialized (“----”).
Please refer to the User’s Manual for instructions on how to
initialize the IP address.

CHAPTER 4 Basic Setting [RSLinx]
This operation is necessary only once. For the following sample, the IP address of the PLC is set to 192.168.10.200
Register the device profile of the adaptor (IV2) to be connected using the scanner’s setting software. You can register the device profile manually or
by reading the EDS (Electronic Data Sheet) file. You can download the EDS file of the IV2 from the Keyence web site (https://www.keyence.com).
1 Connect the PC installed with RSLinx and the 1769-L32E with 8 Click [OK].

2 Open [RSLinx Classic].

3 Select [Configure Driver].

9 Select [using network card], and then click [OK].

4 Click [Ethernet devices], and click [Add New].

10 Right click [AB_ETH-1, Ethernet], and then select [Configure Driver].

5 Click [OK].

11 Input the IP address of IV2 (“192.168.10.51”) to [Station 1],


6 Input the IP address of the PLC (192.168.10.200) to [Station 0],
and click [Add New].
and then click [Add New].

7 Select [EtherNet/IP Driver], and then click [Add New]. 12 IV2 will be recognized as shown below.

CHAPTER 5 Basic Setting [RSLogix]
Use [RS Logix 5000] to initiate cyclic communication with IV2.

1 Open [RSLogix 5000]. 5 Input the IP address of the PLC (“192.168.10.200”) inside
[IP Address], and click [OK].

2 Select [New] inside [File], and create a New Project.

6 If necessary, repeat for the other units connected.

3 Input a project name (“IV2”) inside [Name], and click [OK]. 7 Register IV2 as an Ethernet/IP module.
Right click [1769-L32E], and select [New Module].

4 Right click [1769-L32E], and then select [Properties].

8 Select [ETHERNET-MODULE] inside [Communications], 10 Click [OK].


and click [OK].

11 Select [Who Active] inside [Communications].

9 Input the module name (“IV2”) to [Name], and input the IP


address of IV2 (“192.168.10.51”) to [IP Address].
Select [Data-INT(16bit)] at [Comm Format], and input the
following numbers to [Connection Parameters].

The setting for [Connection Parameters] depends on the setting of [Comm Format].
If [SINT(8bit)] is selected, refer to below.

If [SINT(8bit)] is selected.

12 Select the connected PLC unit (“00, CompactLogix Processor,


IV2”), and click [Go Online].

* When setting [Comm Format] and [Connection Parameters] please confirm carefully
the specification of your sensor.
If this is not set properly, it might not operate correctly.

13 Click [Download]. 14 Please confirm that the PLC is in [Run] mode.


Double click [Controller Tags], and display the [Monitor Tag].

15 The result of judgment can be seen in the [Controller Tags] as


shown below.

* If the switch on ControlLogix is set to [Run], the [Download] button will not be able to
be clicked.
Please select [REM] or [PROG].
