3. Title of the Project: PLANT DISEASES DETECTION USING IMAGE PROCESSING WITH
DATA CAPTURING BY DRONE
4. Abstract of the Project: This patent disclosure covers a Novel System design of a data capturing drone. In
the existing system tormenter virus and a few diseases causes infection to plant with loss of quality
and amount production. Agriculture is the most significant and ancient occupation in Republic
of India. Hence proper care of plants is important. This patent disclosure is proposing to capture
the field by using drone and capture images of plant leaves. Then with the use of MATLAB
software, image segmentation process is done by using K-Means Clustering and Aniso -
Diffusion filter for filtered images. The code without and with filtered images are run to check
the accuracy. The accuracy of the filtered image is greater than accuracy of the unfiltered image.
A Quad copter capture the pictures with the plants affected by fungi, virus and microorganism
on plants. Image processing is used for persecutor management detection of insects,
identification of nutrient deficiencies. With the assistance of image processing, automatic
detection of varied diseases is analyzed.
5. Description of the Project:
This patent disclosure covers Novel System design of a data capturing drone as described above in Figures 1
to 3.
Assembling & Design of components: The prototype of the proposed device shall be assembled and designed.
Coding : Necessary coding shall be uploaded to the MATLAB.
Collection of data: Data collected from the drones shall be processed by using K-Means Clustering image
processing algorithm and Aniso - Diffusion filter for filtering as shown in Figure 4.

Fig 1 Shows the proposed device block diagram

Methodology:
• Using Quadcopter to capture the images where the diseases affect like fungi, virus and bacteria on plants.

• Segmented the image using K-means clustering segmentation with Support vector machine (SVM)
classifier. The original image is inserted as input in MATLAB to check the accuracy and affected area of
the leaf.

• Filtered image is displayed as output using Aniso diffusion filter is executed in MATLAB.

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Indoor flying: Choose a wide place without barriers, pets and people.
2. Outdoor flying: Choose warm, sunny or windless weather.
3. Do not fly in extreme temperatures. Flying in extreme temperatures may affect the
performance and damage the product.
4. Do not fly in windy days. The performance and the control of the aircraft will be
affected by winds. Windy condition may cause the missing and damage of the air craft.
PRECAUTIONS
1. The remote-controlled distance will be shortened when the power is insufficient.
2. It is difficult to take off or fly not high when aircraft’s power is insufficient.
3. When the aircraft is damaged, please repair it on time. If you do not use the transmitter
for a long time, please remove the batteries to avoid the batteries leakage.
4. Do not drop the transmitter from the high altitude or crash it badly, otherwise it will
shorten the transmitter’s using life.
Fig 4 Cotton Leaves

This patent is planned to mean diseases within the leaf with a union of form, texture and color feature
withdrawal. Farmers send a digital image of the diseases leaf of a plant victimization drone, this
pictures area unit hold on in mobile phones, and also these pictures are browsed in MATLAB and
processed mechanically using supported SVM and the results are taken. The output is to urge hold of
relevant results that may spot out morbid leaf of sure unremarkable caused illness to plants. Healthy
and morbid pictures area unit composed and pre-processed. Later, attributes like form, color and
texture are taken out from these pictures. Finally, the pictures are a unit sorted by means that of
support vector machine (SVM). This patent design allows to classify 2 stages, initial set of pictures
while not applying filters, second set is with applying filters. MATLAB method is by divided the
picture's victimization K-means cluster formula, otsu segmentation wand FCM-LSM techniques in
filter half. SVM classifier is predicated on the classified form of illness. A text message is also shown
to facilitate dialog for user.

agricultural sector. The outcomes of results are able to detect the stages/level of the affected part.
2. To classify the varieties of captured images, and characteristics of diseases. Easy to collect the
require data. The concept is not only helpful for farmers, also useful for college students.
3. Advantage of victimization image processing technique is that the leaf diseases is also known at its
early stage. For rising recognition rate, most of researchers used artificial neural networks and
classifiers like ANN, SVM etc
4. The farmer will handle simply to capture the data’s (Image) of the diseases leaf from his/her mobile
application.
5. Image processing will improve decision for vegetation activity, irrigation, fruit sorting, etc., formal
logic, neural network, Genetic rule, wavelet, PCA, fruit grading.

6. In addition to sorting applications, Image processing is used for persecutor management detection
of insects, identification of nutrient deficiencies and plant content, fruits quality scrutiny, grading of
agricultural product like fruits vegetables, crop and land estimation and object pursuit.
