Dear Coach Miller,

In my six years as an Assistant Coach at Independence High School, I have had a number of meaningful
experiences that make me qualified to lead a basketball program. These experiences have made me a valuable
asset to my school as a leader, communicator, relationship builder, and a loyal coach committed to the athletic
program. For these reasons, I am excited to be applying for the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Van Alstyne
High School.

During my time at Independence High School, I have been able to help foster a culture where players and
coaches believe in our motto of “We Not Me.” We have implemented a year round training program to ensure
player development, built interest in our program from families both inside and outside of our school, and have
started to create a successful middle school program through clinics and camps.

The unity between the players, coaches, and families is what has led to success on the court. More importantly,
through the culture built in our program, we have been able to help hundreds of young athletes grow into
successful young men. This unity is the same vision I have for the Van Alstyne Panthers Boys Basketball
Program.

If I were chosen to lead the Van Alstyne Panthers Boys Basketball program, you would be bringing in someone
that is passionate about the game, deeply cares about his players, and is committed to building a basketball
culture that the community would embrace.

It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my resume for consideration as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Van
Alstyne High School. I am excited for the possibility of being a part of Van Alstyne Athletics and would love the
opportunity to meet with you to discuss the value that I can bring to your school. I greatly appreciate your
consideration and look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,

Michael Todd
