ROFA Industrial Automation AG in Kolbermoor is the parent company of the ROFA Group.
The ROFA Group acts as a general contractor for turnkey solutions from a single source in the areas
of conveyor systems, automation technology, intralogistics, and special machine construction.
The ROFA Group grew with the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. This area is still an
important focus throughout the whole group of companies today. They are one of the top suppliers
of materials-handling technology, more than 5,000 reference projects worldwide and 50 years of
industry experience.
In Romania, the Group is present through ROFA Controls Romania S.R.L. (RCO), established in 2012.
The plant in Timisoara has a small team, which supports the Group members in electromechanical
construction of production systems, in final assembly of control technology and in mobile cabling
systems.

The Position
The future Software Developer will be in charge of software development, planning, creation and
support. He will also conduct functional analysis and tests and create comprehensive software
documentation.
Main Responsibilities
• Independent software development and creation for ROFA systems.
• Adjustment of standard and existing software as required.
• Commissioning and support of systems when necessary.
• Functional analysis and troubleshooting of systems.
• Creation of inspection and checklist documents, preparation of commissioning instructions,

and any relevant customer-specific documentation regarding control engineering.
• Commenting and system description for the created and/or adjusted software.
• Representing the Software Development / Commissioning team.
• Interface creation and coordination with other trades and systems.
• Processing and management of error messages, preparation for departmental management.
• Independent adherence to deadlines.
• Coordination with internal departments and customers (information flow).
• Clarification of improvements, feasibilities, and solution findings with stakeholders.
• Technical clarification with customers and suppliers or service providers.
• Execution and creation of software tests, functional tests, performance tests, etc.
• Integration of technical changes throughout the project.
• Participation in project management in terms of economics, technology, and deadlines.
• Compliance with quality management system and active participation in improvements and
adjustments.

Reporting line
The future Software Developer will report to the Head of Control Engineering Department
(according to the current organizational chart).
The Ideal Candidate
Professional Skills
• Completed studies or technical training in electrical engineering / mechatronics or related
field.
• Very good knowledge of Siemens (TIA) and SCL, FUP, KOP, LD.
• Good knowledge of Allen Bradley (ControlLogix) and / or Beckhoff (TwinCAT) systems is an

advantage.
• Good knowledge of C programming is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of industrial bus systems such as EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet IP,
CANopen, etc.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• German language would be a plus.
